Of categorised motorcycle sales road sport bikes (super sports and sports tourers) saw a May increase of 4.8% although YTD sales lagged by 1.7%. Motorcycles fared better with sales down by 7.8% and 3.4% YTD. Honda’s PCX 125 was by far the best selling scooter with 405 sold in May. Moped sales for May were 29% less than last year with year-to-date (YTD) sales down 34.6%. The statistics, released by the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) make grim reading as cost of living and high inflation take their toll.
